General Information for Speakers and Poster Presentations

These instructions are for those who will be presenting material at the 19th Applied Statistics 2023 conference.

As you prepare for your session at the conference, please keep the following points in mind:

  1. Regular sessions with four or six contributions should allow 17 minutes for each speaker (i.e., no longer than 13 minutes for a presentation and four minutes for a discussion).
  2. Student sessions should allow 10 minutes for each speaker (i.e., no longer than eight minutes for a presentation and two minutes for a discussion).

Oral Presentations

It is highly encouraged to utilize PDF or PowerPoint formats to prepare and display presentations. The organizer will provide LCD projectors and screens in all conference rooms. Presenters will not be able to use their own computers for presentation purposes.

All presenters are asked to upload their presentations in PDF or PPTX file format on the conference system by Saturday, September 23, 2023, so organizers have enough time to prepare materials before the conference.

Poster Presentations

  1. Posters should be printed in DIN A0 size with portrait orientation (width 841 mm and height 1189 mm).
  2. Be sure to include the abstract title, author and coauthor names, and the institution(s) where research is underway.
  3. Adhesive tape will be provided to mount your poster.
  4. The costs associated with creating and shipping the poster are the responsibility of the authors.
  5. Please refer to the final conference program for the time of your poster session.
  6. Presenters must be on hand with their posters during the session.
  7. We encourage authors to upload the PDF of their poster to the conference system to extend visibility to the remote audience.

How do I upload a presentation?

Please use the following steps to upload presentation materials:

  1. Log into the conference management system at https://indico.akastrin.eu/e/as2023.
  2. Select “My Contributions” from the left-hand-side menu.
  3. Search through the list of contributions to find the appropriate one, then click on it.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the contribution details. You should see a “pencil” icon to the right side of the screen next to “Presentation Materials”. Click that icon. If you do not see the icon, please contact us at as@stat-d.si.
  5. Select “Upload files”, then either drag your file or use the “Choose from your computer” option.
  6. Only the registered user who uploaded the file and the organizers will be able to see the submitted presentation.
